• Grinders: Mills, Cryogenic Grinders, Discs
HORIBA Scientific provides a large range of laboratory grinders capable of pulverizing and homogenizing a wide variety of samples, including metals, rocks, plastics, plant and animal tissue, bone, pharmaceuticals, and more.
• Digestion systems: Hot Block, Automatic Digestion Systems, Microwaves
Acid digestion dissolves sample into solution by adding acids and heating, until the matrix is completely decomposed.
Anywhere you need to decompose a sample for release of the analyte, or for analysis of trace metals, acid digestion is the recommended process.
It is the ideal companion for ICP, ICP-MS, AA, or AFS instruments.

• Presses
Analytical spectroscopic methods such as XRF, OES, and IR often require samples in the form of a round, flat-surfaced discs. Our laboratory pellet presses are ideal for preparing sample discs for these methods. Our range includes manual and automatic hydraulic presses and an air-actuated press. In addition, our presses are designed to fit on the benchtop, requiring less space than standard floor model presses.
• Electric fusion fluxers
Borate fusion is a sample preparation technique to prepare glass disks (beads) for XRF, or to prepare peroxide or pyrosulphate fusions. An optional solution stirrer provides for AA, ICP and wet chemistry solution making ability. With our automated electric fluxers, preparing fusions becomes quick, easy and efficient, improving lab productivity. Typical samples/applications include: cements, ores, slag, sediments, soils, rocks, ceramics, pigments, glass, and even metals.
• Furnaces
