"If you have the Bio-Rad the mini-protean tetra cell system, the precast gels are the fastest and easiest way to do western blot. You will save a lot of time at the bench and gel migration. In the lab, we can not do without it.It's so convenient."

"This mini-gel keeps in a 4 degree refrigerator and is ready to use anytime needed. It is really easy to use. It really saves time to make gel if you frequently perform silver or coomassie stain. However, it is not worthy if you did not frequently do. So, I recommend if you regularly use for protein work."

Mini format Ready Gel Precast Gels are for use with the Mini-PROTEAN Tetra and Mini-PROTEAN 3 Dodeca cells. The individually packaged gels are available in six formulations.
Bio-Rad’s Ready Gels range includes
• Ready Gel Tris-HCI Precast Gels
Bio-Rad Tris-HCl gels are made without SDS. SDS is added to the sample and running buffers to create standard SDS denaturing electrophoresis conditions.
• Ready Gel IEF Precast Gels
Isoelectric focusing (IEF) gels separate proteins based on their net charge rather than their molecular weight. IEF gels are cast with carrier ampholytes to create a pH gradient within the gel.
• Ready Gel Zymogram Precast Gels
Zymogram gels contain gelatin or casein, which are substrates for proteases. Samples with proteolytic activity can be visualized as clear bands against a blue background after Coomassie R-250 staining.
• Ready Gel TBE-Urea Precast Gels
TBE-urea gels maintain denaturing conditions for analysis of single-stranded DNA and RNA. Nucleic acids between 60 and 200 bases are resolved as sharp, distinct bands.
