The FIRST and ONLY molecular test fast enough to allow pathogen identification reporting with Gram stain results for positive blood cultures

AdvanDx QuickFISH tests are capable of rapid identification of bacteria and yeast directly from positive blood cultures. These tests cover pathogens responsible for the majority of bloodstream infections and found in more than 85% of positive blood cultures. AlphaLaboratories Ltd are the exclusive UK distributor.

Two different tests are available:

Staphylococcus QuickFISH
This test provides rapid identification of S. aureus and Coagulase-Negative Staphylococci (CoNS) directly from GPCC-positive blood cultures in just 20 minutes.

This fast and easy-to-use test enables microbiology labs to report S. aureus vs. CoNS results with the Gram stain critcal values call. This will help clinicians ensure early, appropriate antimicrobial therapy for patients with S. aureus bacteremia while avoiding unnecessary therapy for patients with CoNS contaminated blood cultures.

Enterococcus QuickFISH
The Enterococcus QuickFISH BC provides rapid identification of E. faecalis & selected other enterococci (OE), directly from GPCPC-positive blood cultures in just 20 minutes.

This fast and easy-to-use test enables microbiology labs to report non-E. faecalisenterococci (including E. faecium) bacteremia and the high likelihood of vancomycin and/or ampicillin resistance 2-3 days sooner than with conventional methods. This will help clinicians ensure early, appropriate antimicrobial therapy for patients with enterococcal bacteremia while avoiding unnecessary therapy.
