High optical signal throughput and smart optical design
Rating: 5.0

  • Application Area:Cure test for polymer coating

"Compared to similar attachments to FTIR, Quest is one of the best (if not the best) in high optical signal throughput and signal-to-noise ratio. There is definitely some smart optical design involved. No breaks or any concerns within 2 years of daily operation."

In use daily, by students and for sensitive energetic materials. Great device.
Rating: 4.7

  • Application Area:Analytics of energetic compounds

"This ATR module gave life back to our ancient FTIR spectroscope, which has been pretty much out of use for quite some time. The Specac module was simple to install, a distance plate which was missing (not fitting) on delivery was promptly sent to us - great customer support. All data recorded is reliable, the system is in use every day. Only the sample plate has stains so a different type of steel would have been nice. But all the working parts are reliable and the system is easy to clean, as you would expect from an ATR."

Brilliant product, very easy to use and very hard wearing
Rating: 5.0

  • Application Area:IR analysis of samples in undergraduate teaching labs

"This product is fantastic, we replaced the old plates in our IRs with these as they were continuously getting damaged and misused in the teaching labs. These diamond ATR units are practically indestructible and extremely easy to clean and can be swapped out for liquid or gas cells very easily."

Excellent accessory, would recommend highly.
Rating: 5.0

  • Application Area:Use in teaching laboratories and fundamental Chemistry research

"The Quest ATR is a versatile ATR accessory, due to the easily interchangeable ATR 'pucks' that allow rapid switching over a broad spectral range and sample requirement. Of particular note is the use of all-reflective optics and the availability of an extended-range diamond option. This places the Quest ATR amongst the best ATR accessories available for both routine characterization and more demanding applications in a research environment."

Quest ATR Accessory, a journey into performance and value.

The Quest is the latest ATR accessory from Specac; it is a performance single-reflection ATR accessory designed for laboratory spectroscopic sample analysis in the mid- and far-infrared.

The Quest's innovative optical design is based around all reflective gold-coated optics, and features Specac's Synopti-Focal Array technology with precision-moulded aspheric mirrors. These features allow for a high throughput accessory with an extended wavelength capability suitable for both mid and far-IR spectroscopy.

Each puck is made from hardened stainless steel and is held in place on the accessory magnetically making them easily interchangeable without requiring additional alignment. There is also a choice of 7 different top-plate colours to brighten up your lab.

The Quest is compatible with most modern spectrometers with use of the Benchmark Baseplate system that allows quick and easy installation and simple switching between different instruments and accessories.

Quest ATR Accessory Features:

  • Strong and durable monolithic diamond
  • Extended wavelength capability from 10,000 to 40 wavenumbers
  • High spectral quality and high throughput capability
  • Interchangeable Diamond, ZnSe and Ge ATR crystal puck options
