Works well and is usually dependable.
Application Area: Tissue culture
"The Pipet-Aid is easy to use and generally works well. It holds a good charge. There have been occasional issues with dependability. The service of the pipette is good but getting the service can be a bit cumbersome. Compared to other competing products, it might be a bit over priced."

More reliable and dependable than a wood burning stove.
Application Area:Environmental laboratory
"Excellent product. Easy to use. Only ever had to send one back for repair and was done under warranty. One good thing is that the battery doesn't have to cross the border. We had OMEGA type pipettes and their batteries weren't able to cross the border as they were marked as hazardous."

Top of the line product, simply the best there is.
Application Area:Cell culture
"A little over years ago we started our own lab and I had the pleasure to compare and purchase various pipette aids. We tried many different brands, but the only ones that lived up to our expectations were the XP2 from Drummond. They are smooth and you can control the flow extremely well, which is critical when, for example, making gradients. We have been using 4 of Drummond's XP2 pipette aids for 3.5 years now and never had an issue with any of them other than having to change a filter because some liquid was accidentally aspirated by the user. I highly recommend these pipette aids. Compare them to other companies, and you'll find that these will outperform them all by a mile. Please note that I am not writing this because I can win something, but simply because I wholeheartedly want to help my colleagues in making the best decision when purchasing lab equipment. In addition, I do not mind supporting companies that deliver high quality. It's rare these days."

Best pipette aid on the market!
Application Area:Cell culture
"This pipette aid is easy to use and very durable. The speed control is what sells this aid. Even on the slow setting you can apply light pressure to the button and make it even slower, which is important in our lab. The charge lasts weeks and the filter is easy to change. I've tried other pipette aids and nothing works better."

Slow leak helpful and annoying at the same time!
Application Area:Tissue culture
"I like the upgrade of the Pipet-Aid XP for most applications. There is one part of it that is super helpful sometimes, and super not helpful in other times: the slow leak function. If the up or down button is depressed a little bit, some of the liquid in the pipet leaks out. If trying to remove bubbles from the end of the pipet, or remove a small amount of extra volume from the total in a pipet, this function is helpful. Actually depressing the button to use the pump usually moves too much volume at once. But when trying to get the last little bit of volume from a tube without pulling up bubbles, this function is a pain, as more leaks out than goes in. It would be nice if it only leaked on the down button, but not the up button. The Pipet-Aid XP also has a function similar to this, but much less pronounced."

Love it.
Application Area:Antibody testing and crossmatching for organ transplant
"Very easy to use. Light enough that pipetting a lot of samples isn't fatiguing. Easy even with arthritic hands."

Sturdy & reliable
Application Area:General microbiology
"Used in a general microbiological lab setting for pipetting volumes ranging from 1-50ml. Instrument is sturdy & reliable but the pipetting speed and ability to hold charge is not as good as other pipets in the same price range, e.g., accu-jet pro or eppendorf brand pipets."

Works well, as long as not saturated with ethanol, which will break it.
Application Area:Tissue culture
"Works well initially, responsive to pressure in terms of precision of fluid release and aspiration. Can release with gravity only if extra delicacy needed. If sterilizing with ethanol, spraying directly onto the pipette can short the circuitry, so only spray onto a tissue and wipe the external of the pipette down, rather than spraying directly, as the device is not sealed."
The ergonomic design is more comfortable to handle. The new power source enables more convenient extended operation and the new more powerful pump provides great control and quieter operations. The unit is supplied complete with a power/supply charger, 4 filters and a stand which allows it to be set down without contaminating the pipet.
