"This is a great pipet aid. We bought the first one on a recommendation from one of our postdocs, and we liked the first one so much that we purchased a second one shortly after! It is very straightforward to use - no extra dials or buttons or switches. The ability to change the speed for filling/expelling is really great. Obviously there will be sometimes when having a fast fill/dispense is useful, but also plenty of times when you want a more controlled dispense. There are a lot of students in our lab, so the TC nosepiece that stops airflow if it gets wet is really helpful. We haven't had to talk with customer support yet, but I did register both pipet aids online and it was a very easy and straightforward process. Regarding the value for money spent, I looked around at many other brands as well as scoured the internet for the "best pipet aid." Not only was this pipet aid highly recommended in online forums, it was personally suggested to us by our postdoc, who had used Drummond Pipet-Aids previously and favored them. This model also had one of the best prices (and our institution has special pricing with several vendors, and the Drummond was better priced still) and had a straightforward design (i.e. came with a charger, obviously depicted replacement parts online, easy to change filters). Now both pipettors live in our cell culture hoods, where they get used every day by many students."

"This portable pipette is easy to use and very conducive to cell and tissue culture. Often it is necessary to rest the pipette down in the hood, and the stand on the back of the head is super helpful for keeping serological pipettes from coming into contact with other things. Easy to maintain, charges hold for lengthy periods of use, and fairly ergonomic for hands and wrists. Filters can be a little difficult to change, but overall a very reliable, high efficiency, high accuracy product."

"Our lab recently attended a conference, and while walking through the auditorium we were able to discuss with Drummond Staff some of our older automated pipettes that were no longer functioning, were very slow to draw up solutions, or had to be plugged in constantly to work. We did have a bad batch recently that had to be sent back to the company a few times, but Drummond was really responsive when I reached out about the issue. "Great unit, however, the variable speed switch is rather fragile. If you have many users that switch regularly from fast to medium or slow this tends to break pretty quickly. Additionally, the rate of flow is highly variable between units so if you become accustomed to one unit and switch you need to adjust to the flow of the second. Even with these issues, I would get it again."

"Great product. Very reliable and easy to care for. The only problem I have is mounting a pipette holder inside of a tissue culture hood. Pipette holders in general tend to fall due to the double sided 'command' strips weakness. I used small screws to mount them to the sides of wooden shelves and this has been an excellent way to mount the holders permanently."
