"Very reproducible results. For simple applications looking for a one peak of API, very good. They last long time. Not too good for high pH mobile phase, but Agilent has some substituted columns, which work fine with high pH."

HILIC-Z without sharkfin-shaped peaks.

"HILIC is not so easy to use as C18. The water layer has a lot of influence on a good separation and peak shape. In our facility we measure a lot of samples but they are never the same, so we often use generic methods and almost always with a gradient. These circumstances seldom gave good results on our previous HILIC columns (most of them were diol types), until we got the HILIC-Z column. Chromatography was easy, peak shapes were good (no sharkfin-shape!). Now we use the column in our walk-in facility, were chemist put in their own sample and use them often with nice results."

Will buy the same or similar brand again for amino acids. Ideal for long term use.

"Very good and clean separation of components, high theoretical plate count and easy to clean up. My only concern is pressures are up to 180 to 250 bar, which is almost or more than the capacity of our maximum pump pressure tolerance."

Poroshell 120 column is a Great product
Application Area:Separation of wide variety of analytes such as acidic, basic and neutral type of compounds
"I have been using Poroshell 120 column (50 mm x 2.1 mm x 2.7 micron) for more than two years now. This is a very efficient column that shows great resolution. Since I am using the LC-MS, the choice of mobile phase is limited for that. Never the less with that also I got good resolution and response."

"I have been using this product for small molecule analysis of APIs. The advantage of the poroshell design is that it allows one to achieve high resolution on a traditional HPLC system. The ease of use is straightforward, just install the column, equilibrate and start separating. I have not received after sales care or inquires from Agilent. Value of the product is largely based on how many injections you can perform before column performance diminishes. I can typically get in the neighborhood of 1500-2500 injections of biological samples, before column replacement."
