"At the National Institute of Biology we started using PlatR at the very beginning of its appearance on the market, since we predicted that it will reduce our time spent for pipetting, contribute to the precision of the analyses and be user friendly for the analyst. Actually we now have two PlatRs in our labs and all our predictions became reality. We do a lot of analyses on DNA and RNA in the field of plant pathogens as well as studies in systems biology. We are using PlatR in research work and for analyses for official controls. Everybody using it in the lab is very satisfied with its helpful support of pipetting. PlatR is really user friendly, it enables you to organize your plates and shows you exactly where you need to pipette further with red spot. Expert knowledge and logic is integrated in the PlatR software which enables you to draw your pipetting plans or let PlatR prepare them automatically for you, and save pipetting plans as print-ready pdf files. With PlatR you can document your work: save pipetting plans, re-use them, modify them, or export them to a graphical pdf for your lab book.
PlatR remembers the way you created your pipetting plan and illuminates the wells on the plate according to the pipetting plan you created. PlatR supports multichannel pipetting, pipetting of replicates, optimises reagent/sample distribution and can randomise plates.
Positioning works equally precise for different kinds of plates i.e. 384 well, 96 well, deep well, strips, etc.
It is a preinstalled and pre-activated software which operates only on authorized and validated SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 devices. This particular tablet computer's size is suitable for lab use and it can be a reliable host for PlatR software. The touch screen is made from high quality Gorilla glass which can be easily decontaminated in the lab using a soft-cloth or lint-free tissue dipped in distilled water, simple soap solution, ethanol, DNA /RNA remover. If it is exposed to ultraviolet light (e.g. in DNA chambers) it will not affect PlatR’s functions.
