Description
Photometrics enables researchers to capture molecular events more quickly with its new Evolve™ 512 Delta EMCCD camera. This scientific camera provides the industry’s fastest frame rates and highest sensitivity for a camera of its class, making it the most productive camera of its kind on the market. This new technology enables scientists to obtain high quality super-resolution images in half the time it takes other 512x512 EMCCD cameras.
The Evolve 512 Delta is the only camera equipped with a sensor run at 20MHz which acquires images at 62.5 frames per second at > 90% quantum efficiency with 72e- read noise and <1e- read noise using EM Gain, making it the ideal low-light imaging device. Researchers gain the ability to capture biological events at nearly twice the temporal resolution, so faster events are seen with super-resolution techniques than could be observed previously.
The Evolve 512 Delta was specifically designed for super-resolution science applications such as STORM, PALM and GSD. These applications require thousands of image acquisitions that take many minutes to acquire, just to assemble into a single sample image. Thus, they are limited in temporal resolution by camera frame rate. For example, if 2,000 images are required to compile into a sample image, it would take one minute at previous generation 512x512 EMCCD speeds but only 32 seconds with the Evolve 512 Delta.
The camera is also suited for a range of other applications, including SMF and Tracking, Live-cell Spinning Disk Confocal, SPIM, Intrinsic Imaging, FCS, TIRF, FRET and FRAP.
