First described in the 1950’s Partial D categorises those individuals who display a qualitative variation in D antigen expression. Whilst expressing apparently normal RhD antigen, it is now appreciated that some of the multiple epitopes may be missing. This can lead to the production of anti-D against these epitopes if exposed.
The advantages of this kit include:
- Only six antibodies with matched reaction profiles
- One simple method (IAGT)
- Quick and easy
- Differentiates important partial RhD types
- International evaluation
