The OmniPlex® D Neural Data Acquisition System is Plexon’s flagship electrophysiology research system.

The combination of superior front-end amplification; and flexible, intuitive control software specifically tailored to the neuroscientist conducting extracellular recordings; and game-changing new PL2 neural data file format make the OmniPlex D System the most advanced neural data acquisition and online spike sorting system on the market today.

Features:

  • The compact OmniPlex chassis houses Plexon’s sophisticated electronics for operation, including synchronization and timing between the system components and the amplifier digital interface cards. The chassis incorporates a robust digital interface supporting up to 32 inputs as well as an auxiliary analog input supporting up to 32 or more inputs for non-neural experiment signals.
  • The OmniPlex System Controller operates the OmniPlex Server software considered the “software engine” and PlexControl, which is the main user interface that provides data visualization and allows the researcher to interact with the system – together referred to as the OmniPlex Software. To achieve maximum functionality, the OmniPlex D System must be running OmniPlex Software version 1.7 or higher. OmniPlex Software v1.9 further offers the ability to record PL2 files, enabling ultrafast loading of large neural files (see PL2 File System Overview on the Resources tab for more information),
  • The electrically isolated DigiAmp™ Digitizing Amplifiers are now in two sizes (DigiAmps): the MiniDigi™ available in 16, 32, 48 and 64 channels, and the DigiAmp offering 64, 128, 192 and 256 channels. Both digital amplifiers offer 16-bit A/D conversion at 40kHz per channel for acquisition of the complete wide-band signal.
