"We have an OilExpress 4 to handle samples for our FTIR. We have the small deck, so in order to use both Janus racks, you must disable the sonar auto-depth feature, as it only covers one rack of the samples. The software is a bit slow to respond and does not allow for non-sequential sample processing. The instrument also tends to drift significantly over time, and can be temperamental in nature. Our system can function as a diluter, however only being a two deck system, it does not make sense to utilize it as both a diluter and autosampler. After-sale service, is ok, but often the fixes only last a short time, so we are left with workaround solutions. Consumables are a bit on the expensive side, with the tips being one-time use, it greatly increases the per-sample cost compared to other systems. If you want to use the sonar function, you must also use very specific test tubes in order to not interfere with the sonar pulse."
