Does the analysis, but software needs to be modernized.

"The instrument seems to work well in that it does do the anaysis as needed, though our work is not that demanding. Could be more robust, but customer service is good. Software is somewhat primitive with windows that cannot be configured to my needs, difficult to set range on the internal standard monitoring graph, cannot re-size windows, and the workspace setup does almost nothing."

"The latest ICP mass spectrometer from Perkin Elmer improves on previous Elan models. The system is relatively easy to maintain and optimize, and is very sensitive and reproducible. Perkin Elmer service techs are very knowledgeable and responsive."

"NexION seems to be less robust than DRC II. It runs sample faster but less consistently. In other words, NexION requires more experience personnel to run it than DRC II."

Instrument is very effective and allowed us to obtain high quality results, especially with arsenic.

"Instrument is very effective and allowed us to obtain high quality results, especially with arsenic. With the collision cell we are able to get results without worrying about any interference. Software is easy to use; they offer training when purchasing the instrument. With our industry and the wide range of sample types we test, the after sales care is more in depth, but has nothing to do with the instrument itself. The PA tube does need to be changed more often than I had expected. Overall I do believe that it is a great value for the money spent. "

"This product is very easy to set up and use. Reproduce-ability and low quantitation limits are achieved without difficulty. High salt solutions create somewhat of an issue with plugging but as long as sufficient rinses after sample injection are done, this really becomes a non-issue. I would highly recommend this instrument for any trace metals or metal speciation analyses. "

"We use this ICP-MS for high throughput routine work for iodine, copper, zinc, lead in urine, serum and whole blood. It is very easy to use and clean. The software could be simpler but it does the job."
