The Novex® NativePAGE™ Bis-Tris Gel System is a precast polyacrylamide mini-gel system that provides sensitive, high-resolution analysis of native proteins and protein complexes for molecular mass estimations, and assessment of purity. It is based on the blue native polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (BN PAGE) technique that overcomes the limitations of traditional native electrophoresis by providing a near-neutral operating pH and detergent compatibility. Life Technologies now offers Novex® Nat... Read more

  • Application Area: preparing proteins for trypsin digest & MS

"Pre-cast polyacrylamide gels NuPAGE Novex 4-12% Bis-Tris Gels usually have optimal separation of your small- to medium-sized proteins under denaturing conditions. It has a neutral pH environment so it minimizes protein modifications. I found NuPAGE Novex Bis-Tris gels is good for preparing proteins for trypsin digest and mass spectrometry. We usually run 50-60min to separate protein and protein separation is very good. There are well markers on each gel, so it is easy to load samples. Customer service is good. One box of gels is expensive, it is better sale 2 or 5 gel package."

"NativePAGE has an easy to use buffer system. Also, the apparatus for running the gels is great, gaskets don't leak and so the anode and cathode buffers don't mix. Furthermore, this system is reliable and easy to replicate."

Life Technologies now offers Novex® NativePAGE™ Bis-Tris gels for blue-native electrophoresis of proteins and protein complexes, and NativeMark™ unstained standards for size estimation of proteins in native PAGE.

Advantages of the NativePAGE™ Novex® Bis-Tris Gel System over traditional Tris-glycine gels include:
• Wide molecular weight resolving range — from 15 kDa to 10 MDa
• Neutral-pH separation — preserves better the native state of protein complexes
• Resolution of all proteins in the gel regardless of their isoelectric point (pI)
• Higher resolution than with Tris-Glycine native electrophoresis
