As always, we were very content with the service and analysis provided.
Application Area:Analyzing microbial composition of car interiors
"The sequencing and analysis of microbial composition helped us to get an overview of the microbiome, which is present in car interiors. Sadly I can not say much more about results as they ought to be held in nondisclosure. Our university has a pipeline to further process data given from the analysis of microbial communities so it was very easy to use for us. The customer service also reacted fast to our request to send an estimate of cost and for further consultation."

Great tool, once familiarized. It is easy to use and very useful.
Application Area:Sequencing
"It is a great high-throughput technology, you can sequence multiple samples at once. We mostly use it for sequencing BCR (B cell receptor) CDR regions using kits. It is easy to use, but the sequence analysis requires some expertise from the user on the software usage and retrieving the data. The basic training given by Illumina is not sufficient enough, you may need additional training and the purchase of the software not included with the instrument."

Excellent results providing personal sequencer.
Application Area:A high valuable sequencing system
"What a instrument it is. As the name indicates it is a personal sequencer with great work capacity and easy to use features. Highly recommended and this machine provides very efficient results. Good one to have in the sequencing labs."

The results were reproducible when run by anyone in the lab!
Application Area:Targeted genomic sequencing to study clonal dynamics in cancers
"We were able to very quickly set up and run a targeted sequencing pipeline to study the clonal dynamics of many human tumours and their models (patient-derived xenografts) in vivo."

Great tool to consider purchasing.
Application Area:Sequencing
"Illumina Miseq is a great tool for sequencing genes or DNA of interest. The only disadvantage is it's very expensive. All the consumables and reagents are very expensive too. You should consider purchasing it only if needed and can be used to the fullest potential. Initially, it will take time to learn, but once you get used to it, it is not that hard. Tech support is great. You need a lot of support from 3rd party as well for the kits and sequence analysis software."

Fantastic instrument, great customer support!
Application Area:Sequencing of DNA
"A great piece of equipment, small footprint, reliable, easy to use and provides excellent quality data (generally looking for millions of reads over a 50-300 bp range depending upon the kit used). After sales support is excellent - prompt to answer queries and in troubleshooting any issues we have had. Have been using this for several years and few if any issues that were not quickly resolved all the while generating fantastic quality data - would highly recommend to anyone looking for a smaller DNA sequencer!"

This instrument is vital to our genomics core lab.
Application Area:Genomics sequencing
"This sequencer works really well. We have had a few hiccups but when there has been issues Illumina is amazing at helping either on the phone or sending personnel out to take a look at it. They have great webinars to help understand what is going on with the instrument."

We would still be on the bench without it
Application Area:Sequencing
"Illumina made it easier to prepare libraries, to have a clear vision of the assay quality and in the end focus on the sequences meaning."

The instrument is quite-useful and there is always a margin for improvement.
Application Area:Molecular research, diagnostics and forensics
"The next generation platform, Illumina MiSeq is quite useful platform and is being used very effectively in my lab in human molecular research to find the etiology of disease, exome sequencing and discovery of novel SNPs to find the etiology of various inherited disorders and also being applied in diagnostic and human DNA forensics."

You just can't do without it.
Application Area:Resequencing, rna seq
"It used to be very demanding to sequence Library, low the miseq system enables a piece of cake protocol. You focus on the results, not on the benchtop work"

Good investment
Application Area:NExt Generation Sequencing
"We tried the Oxford Nanopore and the one from Thermo Fisher, we came to a conclusion that the Illumina system gives more accurate read than the other two for amplicons samples. The support service is really good in terms of speed of response to requests."

We've always gotten the results we expected. Technical support provides great service
Application Area:Next Generation Sequencing, DNA, RNA, Single Cell 5',3', and T-cell and B-cell receptor assays, and
"The MiSeq is typically used to conduct test runs on certain assays before we move them unto bigger platforms like the HiSeq and 3000/4000 Instruments. Technical support has always been helpful in providing guidance whenever we run into any sample sheet issues among many others. I recently started using it to sequence my WGS cfDNA samples at low coverage and based on tumor content moving on the construction of Exome libraries. It is definitely an instrument that we cannot do without especially due to the cost."

Good technical support
Application Area:Genome sequencing
"Miseq is a good sequencer for microbiologist. Many of application for identifying microorganisms and easy to use machine. But longer read like 300bp has a quality issue on the read2. Other than this, everything is working as expected. Materials cost is a bit higher."

Great and versatile instrument!
Application Area:Short read whole genome sequencing
"The MiSeq is great for short read technology. We use our short reads to "polish" our long-read PacBio assemblies due to its high coverage and we love it."

Great results with faster throughput, lower cost, and a variety of applications
Application Area:Next generation sequencing
"MiSeq allows small genome sequencing and assembly, and enables detection of target variants with unmatched accuracy, especially within homopolymer regions. Now, even more samples can be processed in less time while generating more reads per run than any previous versions. All of this can be achieved using the targeted gene and small genome sequencer with the shortest sample-to-data workflow. The MiSeq instrument fills a niche for smaller genome projects with a lower cost per run, faster throughput, and a variety of applications"
