Great purchase for labs running western blots on a daily basis
Application Area: Protein transfer from gel to membrane for analyzing its expression
"Running gel and transferring proteins to membrane usually take 2-3 hours of time which is lengthy process in general. This machine by Bio-Rad reduces the transfer time to less than an hour. I used the machine a few times and have great result. Since the Trans-Blot® Turbo™ Transfer System is quite pricy our lab wanted to test before buying it, so we asked Bio-Rad for a demo and they sent one over all that was required was reagents & premade gel. In a week I tested the system with help of an agent at Bio-Rad, and after getting results which was similar to our traditional method we bought the machine."

"The product is easy to use. If the parts were longer lasting, that would make this a crowd favorite. The sandwich cassette hinges break easily, but other than that it is easy to use. Those cassettes could be sold for cheaper considering how often one needs to buy them."

"I have used several instruments for protein transfer in western blotting experiments but I can assure that the system from Bio-Rad is the best in the scientific market. Although there are several transfer apparatuses which can do the transfer in few minutes, I personally feel this wet transfer apparatus provides much better results for my proteins of interest and is very convenient and easy to use and setup."
