Great product, 2-ton mini press is good.
Application Area:Sample preparation and test in laboratory
"The two products are good, ease to use, especially the mini press, it quickly makes good KBr pellet, spare rings are good idea and useful for preparation. Quest ATR is good too, useful for test plastics."

I really love this press system and would recommend to anybody
Application Area:Basic spectroscopy of organic and inorganic compounds
"Such a simple device to use that gives high quality KBr pellets every time. Works in seconds. Pellets can be removed for other uses. The pellet holder easily attaches to a variable temperature cell holder for VT experiments. This is one of the best lab products I have ever used for IR spectroscopy. Would recommend for basic research also for undergraduate teaching labs!"

The is a much better "mousetrap".
Application Area:Some polymer additives; any solid samples a general-purpose IR may encounter that aren't suitable fo
"I have previously used a torque wrench to tighten a screw which applies pressure to a 7-mm die. The Mini-Pellet Press is much easier to use. It also has the advantage that there is no rotary force applied to the die during the tightening and release phases of preparing a pellet. With the screw-pressure device, one piece of the die can sometimes rotate as the pressure is reduced. If that does happen, the pellet surface is invariably marred."

Better and easier than the quick handy press
Application Area:TFS Infrared Applications Laboratory
"I did use the quick handy press until it became lost. I've got this new one and it is easier to use. * The results are similar or better * The pellet is more evenly done. (Not white semilunar borders) * Much more easy to release the pellet than the old one. * Is not so easy to transport but still portable"
The Specac Mini-Pellet Press is an entry-level laboratory hydraulic press for the preparation of high-quality 7mm KBr pellets for transmission FTIR analysis. With a rugged and durable design, this press is intended for regular laboratory use with maintenance-free operation.
Specac’s Mini-Pellet Press is designed to be used on a laboratory benchtop, but is small in size and light enough in weight to allow it to be moved to different points of use or stored when not required. Full hydraulic operation, and an innovative sealed hydraulic unit, allows the user to apply the required load for sample preparation through the simple rotation of a load knob. Reproducible load for pressing high-quality KBr pellets suitable for quantitative studies is facilitated by use of integrated pressure gauge.
The Specac Mini-Pellet Press is also available as part of a Basic Solid Pack. This pack is equipped with a range of sample preparation components necessary for FTIR solid sample analysis by transmission, including the Mini-Pellet Press, a 7mm Pellet Die Assembly, 7mm Disc Holder for a standard 3” by 2” mount, a pair of spare Pellet Ring Holders, a Pestle and Mortar, and KBr Powder (50g).
