It works well
Application Area:Hematology
"The instrument works well. The QC is wonky though as level 1 mean is something like 7mm/hr but we consistently get a return of 1 or 2. When looking for a SedRate analyzer we were attracted to the analysis time and the cost. We did not realize that the printer, the scanner and the transponder were an additional cost. After sale correspondence is excellent and they were able to satisfy our pathologists concern with level 1 expected result versus actual. Like the fact you can use the EDTA tube, however we've had a few problems with some short draws"

I think Streck is the only supplier of controls for the mini cube
Application Area:Hematology
"The product works well. It's a bit of a hassle allowing it to warm, vortex, and the special way of mixing. The only thing that has been a problem is on the mini cube level one is supposed to be 7mm/hr but it almost always runs around 1mm/hr. Our pathologist had a literal fit when she looked at it. A nice lady at Streck did provide us with an e-mail stating some facts and our pathologist backed off."

Definitely a great instrument for ease of use and quick TAT.
Application Area:Clinical laboratory
"The instrument is very easy to use. There is no maintenance required. It has recently been upgraded to run microtainers and raised bottom microtainers. The results are reproducible and the time to final result is only 20 minutes. It is a walk away process. The only improvement I would like to see is that the instrument is able to function at full tube capacity. It errors out when the tube is filled to the line of the tube. The tech has to always take off about a centimeter or two of blood for it to work."
Manufacturer's ResponseThank you for your review, we are happy to hear it’s a great instrument for your lab! We’d love to discuss your instrument suggestion, please feel free to reach out to Michael Patrick at mpatrick@streck.com if you have time to discuss in greater detail

Works with reservations.
Application Area:Lab use
"Product works well but there are a few problems. Initially we bought the Mini Cube because it was low priced but we were not aware that there were hidden costs such as the printer, the scanner, and the transponder. Also the QC doesn't work often. Pathologists are upset that level 1 isn't anywhere near claimed and level 2 is hit or miss. Run it once and get below limits, run it again and its above limits. When the power goes off here (which it does frequently) the instrument resets to the year 2027 so if not noticed the QC has to be entered by hand as the date wasn't changed for a few days. We also have problems with samples with labels from the ER. Have hit or miss problems with pedi samples as well."
Manufacturer's ResponseThank you for your review and we’re sorry your experience did not match your expectations. Customer feedback is an important part of our product improvement process and we appreciate your comments. We appreciate your time discussing your observations with us and that the software update resolved the power reset situation. We will continue to investigate all your comments and communicate product improvements as they are developed. Thank you for your continued loyalty to Streck products.

Very good instrument.
Application Area:Instrument for ESR
"This ESR instrument is compact, easy to use, and uses the primary tube for testing. Tests are purchased on a "card". QC is not counted as a test. If we have an instrument issue, a new one is sent and the test code is reloaded."

Very easy to use.
Application Area:Lab - hematology - sed rate
"The analyzer is very easy to use. You use the primary tube that the sample was collected in so there is no transfer. The correlations were fair as well as reproducible. I did not like the comparisons for the pediatric tubes."

Easy to Set Up, Easy to Use, No Wasted Sample.
Application Area:Clinical Laboratory
"We were looking for a better method to measure Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rates for our neonate and pediatric population. Around the same time, a Streck representative reached out to let me know about a new product they were introducing - the Mini-Cube. We scheduled a demo and right away I could see that it fit our needs. You only need 500uL of whole blood, using a microtainer, and it measures the ESR in the original collection container without using any of the actual sample, so you can remix it and use it for a CBC afterwards. It does a good job with standard sized vacutainers as well. After delivery, the Streck team reached out to go through the set up process over the phone, which was pretty easy. They offered great customer service and even helped with correlation to our old method. I definitely recommend this little analyzer if you're looking for something to replace the old-fashioned Westergren method. Oh, and it can interface to an LIS, too."
The Diesse MINI-CUBE is an automated sed-rate instrument that provides excellent correlation to the Modified Westergren method and is compatible with standard 13 x 75 mm K2EDTA and K3EDTA tubes (2.0-4.0 mL) and pediatric (500 µL) BD Microtainer and BD Microtainer MAP EDTA tubes. This compact ESR analyzer requires no reagents, eliminating operator exposure to patient samples and offers random access sample loading, bar code scanning, a Bluetooth printer, automatic archiving of QC and patient data and LIS compatibility. By running your sed-rate testing on the MINI-CUBE, you can eliminate the need to manually record daily runs. Statistical reports are generated with the following features: Levey Jennings charts, standard deviation, CV%, mean, and highest and lowest result.
The MINI-CUBE is easy to use.
Clear results in four simple steps
User-friendly touchscreen interface with external barcode scanner and printer
Ability to interface with most Lab Information Systems (LIS)
