"We have had a Milli-Q Direct water purification system that produces RO water and 18.2MOhm lab water for 10 years. The system has been reliable and the service when necessary has been top notch. Our system is lightly used, so one issue is that the consumables (filters mainly) could last a lot longer than the 6 month alarm considering the consumables are an investment. I also like that I can hit a button and pull a 100 mL or a liter of water without having to monitor the unit - it just dispenses the appropriate amount. If I were to replace this system (maybe I never will have to?), I would definitely go back to Milli-Q."

"Instrument works exactly as it should. Only issue is that Millipore UK do NOT offer any recycling of the cartridges. They all end up going to landfill. In this day and age this is unacceptable but one gets stonewalled when one questions Millipore UK. Need to get their act togther on recycling because if we had a real alternative to this Gold standard product we would have to consider changing."

"The Millipore Milli-Q Direct 8 was purchased to replace the Barnstead still that was used to make water for BOD analysis. Due to the amount of deionized water that was wasted during the distillation process, we were constantly changing out the carbon filters and cartridges on the DI system. This was extremely costly. The Milli-Q Direct 8 converts our tap water into Type I water with no water wasted. To date, there has been no problem with the BOD testing and we have experienced significant monetary savings."

The pure water produced by the Reverse Osmosis is stored in a tank designed to minimize risks of contamination during water storage. Millipore tanks level sensor will allow the systems to automatically start or stop producing water when you want it, display accurately on the systems screen the water level in the tank and have safety devices preventing overflow or system running dry.
From that reservoir, water can be sourced though a front valve or sent by a delivery pump to feed instruments such as a glassware washing machine, or further processed by the Milli-Q Direct to produce ultrapure (type1) water.
