Mastersizer 2000 by Malvern Panalytical

"I have used/been responsible for the Malvern Mastersizer 2000 and Hydro 2000S instruments at three different companies over a span of about 15 - 20 years. I have only encountered a couple of the detector bands failing on the earlier models but overall they have been a sound workhorse that produced very reliable particle size data. The instruments are easy to use and understand and once trained properly, easy to clean. I have even demonstrated the use for the FDA during an inspection. I highly recommend this instrument if there is any interest in performing particle size analyses."

"The Mastersizer 2000 is very easy to use and provides quick analysis of a wide range of particle sizes. I frequently use the Scirocco dry powder feeder, and it handles most samples without problems. It is capable of adding SOPs in order to use the same settings for frequently tested samples. I found the cost to be similar to competitive products. I can't comment much on the after sales services because we haven't had much need for service."
