You need to provide primers and essentially send tubes containing DNA and primer with a barcode to identify your sample, quite simple. Each sample gives reliable data for approximately 900 bp although very rarely I get inconclusive results. Not much more to say, however I find the website is not very user-friendly. This means frequently when I go to access my results, they do not load properly and I have to refresh the page several times to be able to access them. This is clearly quite frustrating but if this problem was overcome it would be a very good service indeed."

"I used LIGHTRUN sequencing services. Generally, I should only put the label on the sample premixed with primers and it is ok. The only thing is that the labels should be put after heating the samples, since the ink in barcodes is disappearing during the heating and is converted into smudge. That is why I gave 4 stars for after sales care (I have not seen that the labels must not be heated). But, even with smudged labels, I got sequencing data. After all, this is one company that provides around 1000-nt long reads from good quality plasmid preps and provides results within 1-2 days after samples arrival."

"Prepaid system of buying barcode labels is very easy. No filling out of web-forms for each sequence reaction necessary. Just attach the label on your tube and send it in (in our case: bring it to the sample pick-up point). Results are available very quickly (sometimes within 36 hours, always within 48 hours). Used method/kit for sequencing apparently very robust, as differences in DNA concentration do not seem to influence the sequencing quality (I never measure DNA concentration before sending the samples, just 5 ul of a clearly visible band of a PCR reaction is always enough to give nice results). Sequence quality is generally excellent, with an occasional drop-out of a sample (estimated one in every 30-40 samples). Not expensive."

I will not recommend you anymore and also not buy it again."

"I will list the disadvantages: 1) I don't get a replacement for the ones that the machines fail to sequence. 2) It says that pick up of the samples in our dropbox is 4:00p.m. but the guy came yesterday at 3:00p.m ( too early). so when I put my samples in the box at 3:30p.m., they have to be left there for one more day before the guy has to come and pick them up.3) The results takes 2-3 days to come out unlike other companies who email the results the very next days. 4) I wish I can catalogue/label my results within the account. It'll be far easier to look into which barcode responds to what sequence. 5) If I have to buy a new barcodes, I have to buy at least 100 barcode at once although am not going to use half of them."
