The Leica LN22 liquid nitrogen freezing attachment was designed specifically for use with the Leica RM2265 rotary microtome. Sections of uncompromising quality can be obtained from even the most challenging specimens in the fields of industry and materials research - at section thickness settings between 0.25 and 100µm and working temperatures as low as -150°C. Changing from ambient temperature to low-temperature sectioning and vice versa is quick and easy. Saves time and money – no need for a s... Read more

  • Application Area: Slicing Frozen Brains

"The microtome works great, but there are several issues with the glue to hold the brain in place while slicing. It would be great if Leica could come up with a solution."

"A lot of options are available on this equipment with the possibility to adapt different systems and samples on the same machine for increased efficiency. It is possible to perform different sample preparations on the same sample."

  • Application Area:Sectioning of biological samples

"The chamber is smaller than other cryomicrotome systems but the liquid nitrogen flow allows sectioning at very low temperatures, e.g. -70. The blade and sample holder temperature are controlled separately. There are several options of blades and sample holders compatible with the system. The cryo chamber is easily dismounted to perform room temperature sectioning down to 250nm and the sample clamps and holder provide much more degrees of freedom for angle of cutting and sample sizes."

Saves time and money – no need for a separate modified microtome.

Open-top cryochamber for condensation-free and frost-free sectioning at temperatures down to -150°C, provides high-quality sections even from the most demanding specimens.

Space saving, easy to read LEDs, and flexible instrument settings. Memory with backup for all settings.
