Great product but a lot of things should be done to make it perfect

"The product is very efficient. Alignment is one of the best, quantitation of gene expression and statistics analysis is very good. I would like to see correlation analysis with corresponding heat-maps. What is disappointing is a graphic interface of 90-ies, absence of decent genome browser to visualize all sequences in the experiment etc. Examples of good solutions: CLC Genomic Workbench, of course, but also many free tools: GoldenHelix Genomebrowse, amazing free tool that supplements Lasergene Genomics suite, UCSC Genome Browser and others. You can do it too. After that DNAStar product will be the best "

Our recent development emphasis has been primarily focused on algorithms, including ensuring that genomics alignment and variant calling produces the most accurate results. We believe that producing the most accurate results is the most important aspect of scientific software. We are now in position to focus more effort on enhanced user interfaces, including introduction of a genome browser. We expect to work on these improvements in near-term future releases.”

"We started using DNAStar about 15 years ago. We have kept current up through the current release. The price is very competitive, and the after purchase support has been fantastic. What I also like is that my undergraduate and graduate students can pick up routine usage of most of the software very quickly for sequence analyses and routine assemblies. Any issues we have in knowing what to do we email for support and get prompt response and support."
