  • Application Area:QC, Quantitative Analysis

"Our lab purchased the Perkin Elmer Lambda 25 for use in two applications, where the measurement of only one wavelength is needed. The software does have extensive capabilities for collecting scan and kinetics data, so I will be using it to explore other analysis methods for our laboratory. The software contains wizards to enable the easy setup of new applications. Applications support is available from Perkin Elmer, one just needs to call and describe their needs. It is not clear to me what accessory I need to enable the use of our 10 cm cells, but I will contact Perkin Elmer to address this. "

"The instrument is very easy to use. I have never needed to use the after sales service and as such I don't actually know how the service is but the product itself gets five stars for ease of use and the fact that it is robust enough that technical assistance has not been necessary. I could definitely recommend this product."

"This is an easy to use product with many different features. It has software that can produce method variability and advanced results. It also has very good product support because it can be supported by a PerkinElmer technician that will come out and do preventative maintenance on it. We have been using it for 2 years and have not had a problem with the system as of yet. It is easy to calibrate and easy to use overall. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a UV/Vis."

"This product although somewhat difficult to use at times is very good.  The time in which it takes to obtain a spectra is short and detailed, showing high resolution of peaks.  When malfunctioning the support staff and manual are very helpful.  When it was necessary to require a technician to come in it was done in a timely manner. Highly recommend this product."

"The lambda 35 instrument is very rugged and very user friendly as far as ease of maintenance and calibration. The only complaint I have is with the operating software, it runs very slowly at times and the service technician has not been able to explain why."

"These products are very important for our lab. In our laboratory, we have synthesized and characterized some drug and metal complexes. For the synthesis and characterization, we must to use ultra violet spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, mass spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy; thermal analysis system, magnetic susceptibility measurements, elemental analysis (C, N, H, S)."

"This UV/Vis is an extremely easy to use instrument and is also very affordable; I would definitely recommend it to a colleague. Its data acquisition times are very fast and the spectra obtained can be easily read and maximum absorption values can be determined with the click of a button. Overall, this is a great instrument for easy data acquisition and a great starting instrument for a novice analytical chemist to learn from."

"The instrument did not come with any training instead they installed a manual on the computer. There are two possible programs to use and the older and newer program do not give the same results. I don't know which one to trust. I am disappointed with this purchase but perhaps it would be fine if it included training that has been included with every other instrument purchase I have ever encountered."

"This instrument at times can be difficult to use because it freezes and when zeroing and it glitches at times. But when working properly it is a great instrument to use and is accurate. I like how the program displays more than one trail. Very simple to put in cuvette the right way and has two slots for the cuvette. Once sample is in and zeroed correctly the UV-Vis is simple to use. At times it is difficult to find the right tools to display the graph."

"This product is used in most chemistry classes because it is a fast and easy.  It gives an accurate reading that is necessary to complete undergraduate labs. This is the only type of spectrometer I have used, but after analyzing the outcome of the data, results can be concluded that allow the data to be verified."
