Great product but caution about chip quality

"GXII are great, cost effective and high throughput for protein purity analysis. But recently we have been experiencing an issue with chip quality. Chips are promised to be good for 400 samples but we never past 200 in the past few months. Hoping PerkinElmer can resolve this issue soon."

"Instrument and technology is great. Very robust and consistent good quality data. Only downside is with consumables (labchips) never reach their promised 400 samples and quite a bit of work goes into troubleshooting consumable related issues. Once they work, everything is good."

Problems, problems, problems.

"This instrument has been nothing but a pain since we bought it. Bad DNA chip lots, wires that somehow disconnect during runs, tons of script errors. Just replaced the laser, which did not solve the issue. Tech support is blaming the chip makers, even though the same chips worked intermittently before."

"Throughput cant be beat. Data analysis software is dated, and slow, but gets the job done. Customer service is meh. Pretty much need to figure it out on your own, very limited technical support. With some tweaking, the instruments have been very useful, and enabled us to resolve small differences in expression, or MW between variants."

"We use this instrument as an automated SDS-PAGE. The data we generate using this instrument are reproducible. The only caveat with this techniques is that the sizes don't align with the ladder. We usually use a standard protein with a known size to circumvent this issue. The instrument is easy to use, and the software is friendly. I've bee in contact with the customer service several times, and they were helpful. The consumables are not cheap but reasonable."
