Our cell line collection includes the hERG and Kv1.3 potassium channels, and the Nav1.5 sodium channel. Each cell line has been optimized by our assay development team to stably express the ion channel of interest, and has been validated using both flux assays and electrophysiology. The window of detection (signal/noise) of these cell lines is appropriate for high-throughput screens. These cell lines, when used with our proprietary Ion Channel Reader and optimized reagens, can help generate robust, sensitive assays for ion channel screening.
The Kv1.3 potassium channel has shown promise as a pharmaceutical target for such diseases as multiple sclerosis, obesity, and more recently, diabetes. In order to screen large compound libraries against Kv1.3, a reliable expression system is needed.
