JM110 Competent Cells
Most E. coli hosts contain both DNA adenine methylation (dam) and DNA cytosine methylation (dcm) genes. These genes code for proteins that methylate specific sequences when DNA is propagated, making subsequent digestion with methylation-sensitive restriction enzymes impossible.
