We recommend all analytical columns are protected by a guard column or cartridge, which is replaced on a regular basis. The ID of the analytical column determines the correct ID for the guard, so we offer 1.0, 2.1, 3.0 and 4.0 diameter Javelin guard columns in all our stationary phases to ensure optimum chromatography is maintained.
The Javelin guard design is a one-piece format that can be installed without wrenches and requires no holder, which allows quick and easy replacement. The design has a male outlet with a 16th inch CPI tip that attaches directly to the inlet of the HPLC column.
Please note that Javelin gaurd columns are not recommended for use as analytical HPLC columns as they are not shipped with a quality control test certificate and do not have an individual serial number. We recommend DASH columns for fast LC/MS assays.
