It is an essential part of our research
Rating: 4.3

  • Application Area: ELISA, Quantification of fluorescent substances

"The product is highly useful in an affordable package. We use it for multiple purposes including UV, ELISA, and fluorescence applications. Though after sale service is not too good, it is adequate. I think this instrument needs very less maintenance than any other available in the market at the same price range. After all, we are satisfied with its performance. Now, this is an essential piece of equipment in all our laboratory works."

Worthwhile the price
Rating: 4.0

  • Application Area:Biomedical research

"It's quite easy to use; it's a multimodal plate reader that allows reading multisized plates. Besides, it's upgradeable, and it allows data exportation to Microsoft Excel. It's not a cheap equipment, but it's worthwhile the price."

I would highly recommend it for a variety of applications
Rating: 4.3

  • Application Area:BCA Assays and MycoAlert Assays

"This microplate reader was more than enough for our chemiluminescent assay needs. The UI was extremely intuitive and I would highly recommend it for a variety of applications (i.e. absorbance, fluorescence, chemiluminescence, etc.). We really haven't needed much after sales care but the value for the money definitely seems well worth it. "

Reliable and heavy duty
Rating: 4.0

  • Application Area:Biology, cell culture, DNA quantification

"The plate reader is reliable and heavy duty, easy to use and the basic software is very easy. Magellan advanced software is quite complicated but rarely needed for normal applications in research like cell toxicity. It has plate accessory for DNA quantification that enables simultaneous quantification of 10 samples of as low as 5 ul. It can be upgraded to include fluorescence and luminescence but it is quite expensive. After sale support is very good. Many application notes are available in the website."

It has so many options for reading plates, that it is almost "addictive" to use it!
Rating: 5.0

  • Application Area:Multipurpose plate reader

"We have a Tecan M200Pro, and this device is one of the most used ones in our laboratory. It's easy to use, reliable and flexible. It has so many options for reading plates, that it is almost "addictive" to use it. For luminescence applications, it's better to have the injectors, although is still possible to have reliable measures not having them."

"We use this product for chemiluminescent detection including MycoAlert, luciferase based assays, and BCA protein assays. It has always yielded high quality results on a consistent basis. I would highly recommend it to others. The UI is very intuitive and the reader covers the spectrum of basic to advanced readouts. "

Software is intuitive and setting up complex protocols is easy
Rating: 5.0

  • Application Area:Cell based fluorescence and luminescence assays

"We recently demoed the M200 pro and based on the performance decided to buy this (ex-demo) machine. Here is a summary of what we have seen so far. The good: -Readings are as reliable as the other machines we have in lab. - Surprisingly our calcium signaling studies were a lot less noisy in the M200 compared to our filter based machines which are supposed to be superior. -Service contract is very attractive compared to other popular manufacturers (important for us, as we run these machine day in, day out). -Software is intuitive and setting up complex protocols is easy -The rep was knowledgeable and if didn't know something promptly contacted the tech team and got back. Additionally gave us a great discount. The bad: - Magellan (purchased separately), which is a data reduction software in addition to iControl (provided free) can be installed only in 2 computers. -Injector is not usable with anything less than 10 ul (TBH this seems to be a trend with others as well). "

  • Application Area:Absorbance-, Fluorescence-, Luminescence-, Injection experiments

"The platereader works solidly while measuring simple absorbance, fluorescence or luminescence. The main flaw in my opinion can be found in the software and the injection module. There are plenty of bugs in the software, which often cause crashes or are simply misleading when the software decides to change parameters, which were saved differently. Regarding the injection module it requires a lot of liquid, so expensive solutions may be wasted. Additionally, the minimal injection volume of 5µl shows large deviations. Bugs were reported to Tecan and a fix was promised but we are still waiting after one year. Furthermore, the software only runs on Windows XP and Windows 7; we are still waiting for a Windows 8 version. As we are using the m200pro plateread in two different institutes, the flaws are reproducible between different rags. Summing up I would recommend other companies' platereaders, as these are more reliable."

"The instrument is easy to use. However, it is cumbersome to figure out the calculation factor. I was told the calculation formula can only be shared with European customers, not the US customers."

  • Application Area:fluorescence, luminescence, absorbance

"This instrument is extremely useful in a biomedical research environment. Our lab uses it for chemiluminescence and absorbance ELISAs. Lag times can be set for time-resolved fluorescence or phosphorescence measurements which is particularly useful. It is very easy and quick to measure excitation and emission spectra for fluorescent compounds, as well as taking absorbance spectra measurements. Kinetic cycles allow you to measure luminescence decay curves."

"A very diverse machine- covers fluorescence, luminescence and absorbance. Detects pretty low signal, with not a lot of background. Some crosstalk when Em/Ex are close together so can need optimization. Customer/technical service are very helpful. Questions answered quickly, loaned equipment provided during repair."

Multimode microplate reader for infinite application flexibility and high-level of performance

The Infinite 200 PRO series is based on the highly successful Infinite 200 series of microplate reader. The Infinite 200 PRO can provide a full range of leading detection methods in one easy-to-use modular instrument, with either Quad4 monochromator™ (Infinite M 200 PRO) or filter-based technologies (Infinite F200 PRO).

Optimized cell-based applications
The Infinite 200 PRO offers enhanced fluorescence intensity reading especially for cell-based applications, with a range of features designed to improve sensitivity and inter-/intra-well reproducibility. Functions such as the optimal reading (OR) function ensure excellent performance and reliability of your assays.

Advanced z-focus
Automated, adjustable z-focus facilitates assay miniaturization for FI Top measurements on the Infinite M200 PRO, achieving equally high sensitivity and performance in low volume plates. Advanced background correction makes the instrument particularly suited to cell-based applications using autofluorescent growth media, providing automatic optimization of the signal-to-noise ratio.

Infinite 200 PRO detection modes:

  • Enhanced Fluorescence intensity (with OR)
  • Fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET)
  • Time resolved fluorescence energy transfer (TR-FRET) like HTRF®
  • Time resolved fluorescence (TRF)
  • Fluorescence polarization (FP)
  • Glow/Flash and dual-colour luminescence
  • Absorbance

NanoQuant Plate™ compatible
Tecan’s NanoQuant Plate is a sensitive, quartz-based tool that can measure up to 16 samples simultaneously from just 2 μl sample volumes, and detects DNA or RNA concentrations as low as 1 ng/μl.
