It has so many options for reading plates, that it is almost "addictive" to use it!

"We have a Tecan M200Pro, and this device is one of the most used ones in our laboratory. It's easy to use, reliable and flexible. It has so many options for reading plates, that it is almost "addictive" to use it. For luminescence applications, it's better to have the injectors, although is still possible to have reliable measures not having them."

"The platereader works solidly while measuring simple absorbance, fluorescence or luminescence. The main flaw in my opinion can be found in the software and the injection module. There are plenty of bugs in the software, which often cause crashes or are simply misleading when the software decides to change parameters, which were saved differently. Regarding the injection module it requires a lot of liquid, so expensive solutions may be wasted. Additionally, the minimal injection volume of 5µl shows large deviations. Bugs were reported to Tecan and a fix was promised but we are still waiting after one year. Furthermore, the software only runs on Windows XP and Windows 7; we are still waiting for a Windows 8 version. As we are using the m200pro plateread in two different institutes, the flaws are reproducible between different rags. Summing up I would recommend other companies' platereaders, as these are more reliable."

"The instrument is easy to use. However, it is cumbersome to figure out the calculation factor. I was told the calculation formula can only be shared with European customers, not the US customers."

"A very diverse machine- covers fluorescence, luminescence and absorbance. Detects pretty low signal, with not a lot of background. Some crosstalk when Em/Ex are close together so can need optimization. Customer/technical service are very helpful. Questions answered quickly, loaned equipment provided during repair."
