IP-10, or Interferon Gamma Inducible Protein 10, is a CXC chemokine also known as CXCL10. IP-10 is induced in monocytes, fibroblasts, and endothelial cells by IFN gamma. It is also induced by LPS, IL-1 beta, TNF- alpha, IL-12, and viral infection. IP-10 is a chemoattractant for CXCR3+ T cells, which plays an important role in Th1-type inflammatory diseases, as well as several endocrine-related autoimmune diseases such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Recombinant human IP-10 produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide containing 77 amino acids and with a molecular mass of 8.5 kDa.
