We recommend all analytical columns are protected by a guard cartridge, which is replaced on a regular basis.
The ID of the analytical column determines the correct ID for the guard cartridge. We offer 10x1, 10x2, 10x3, 10x4mm guard cartridges in all our stationary phases to ensure optimum chromatography is maintained.
There are two guard systems:
The stand alone UNIGUARD® system can be connected to any analytical column using a SLIPFREE™ connector or a one piece PEEK® coupler.
The Direct Connection UNIGUARD (see illustration) allows the guard cartridge outlet to be directly placed against the analytical column inlet frit. This minimizes the dead volumne between the guard and analytical column, which can benefit sensitivity in all methods.
