"This system was made available to us by the department. I have used the older gel doc and this one. The new software is new and improved and I love the ease of use. This system saves so much time. You can take pictures and analyze it right there if you want. Positioning your blot is so easy. I love all the gel doc systems as it saves paper and films. You print only the ones that are required. You can export the pictures in different qualities -- analysis only, publication quality, 300 or 600dpi. The parts are expensive, repairs can be expensive. So rarely can individual labs buy these items and manage them. However, it is really useful."

"Easy use equipment. The cable from the camera to the USB port is not long enough though. There should be a way to use wireless technology to send pictures to either a computer or to a cloud based system. It would also be helpful to pre-program in the lengths of interest for a specific application for semi-automated length or SNP analysis."

"The multifunctional aspect of this machine is amazing. It's able to image standard ethidium bromide gels, as well as chemiluminescent and luminescent protein gels and membranes. We've also found it can do luminescence straight from cells. Technical assistance and sales staff are terrific."
