The GC-FT-IR accessory is intended for direct coupling between gaschromatography and FT-IR spectroscopic detection.
With the upcoming of FT-techniques in IR-spectroscopy, the problem of time-fitting in the spectrometric online measurement of the chromatograms was solved. FT-IR is fast enough to follow the individual separated eluents. Within a split second a full IR spectrum is recorded whereby sensitivity to ng-range is obtained.
