"We purchased this incubator with the oxygen sensor for hypoxic growth of stem cells, as we were having various problems with the Panasonic multigas incubators. What has impressed me most about this incubator is when our nitrogen supply ran out and was waiting for the cylinders to be changed the Galaxy maintain a 5% O2 level throughout, during the same time period the Panasonic incubator had the O2 level raising as high as 15%. The initial set up of the incubator is a bit complicated as you have to install the oxygen sensor and carry out calibrations, but it is easy to follow the manual. The port to monitor the chamber CO2/O2 levels is at the back of the incubator which is ok as we only have the one incubator sat on a bench, but if you were to have these stacked like our Panasonics are the accessing the ports would be difficult. However compared to the Panasonics the Galaxy maintains the CO2 and O2 levels much more accurately. The Galaxy set to 7%CO2 and 5%O has been giving readin"
Manufacturer's ResponseOxygen sensors in Galaxy CO2 incubators do not require calibration during installation unless O2 levels below 1 % is maintained in the instrument. At all other setpoints O2 sensor can be routinely recalibrated in between experiments using the “reference O2 sensor” feature on the display. For those customers interested in stacking Galaxy 48 R incubators we offer specially designed stacking stands with robust castors/wheels.
