Very easy to use with perfect result
Rating: 5.0

  • Application Area: Freeze drying of microbial cells, like microalgae, yeast as well as food products.

"The process is very easy, pre cool the vessel -45C using automated switch, put pre cooled samples, closed the lid and pressure valve. Depending on the same size we can add additional heater which will result in quick drying of the product. Easy to remove sample."

Bad product with multiple issues, and clueless servicing team
Rating: 2.3

  • Application Area:Lyophilizing HPLC samples

"We purchased FreeZone 4.5 Liter -105C Benchtop Freeze Dryers in 2017, however it went bad just after an year and half of usage. Since Labconco provide only one year warranty, we requested Labconco service which costed us around USD 1500 (INR 1.5 L). Service team changed refrigerant assuming that was the fault (leakage due to manufacturing defect), however, that didn't solve the problem. Now Service team say it is a compressor issue, asking us to replace that with an additional cost of USD 500-1000. The strange thing is, they still can't guarantee whether it is going to work after that. We agreed to that as well, since we badly need the instrument working, however, now they are saying replacement compressors are not currently available. Its been four months!! Long story short: Bad product with multiple issues and clueless service. Hardly worked for 18 months, such a premium product from Labconco. A no no for any potential buyers."

Awesome product overall
Rating: 5.0

  • Application Area:Materials Science

"This is our most used lab equipment, and still going strong after 5 years of near consistent use, only requiring oil changes occasionally. My only criticism is the flasks are very expensive and are prone to breaking even when following manufacturers protocols"
