The FLUOstar OPTIMA is a versatile microplate reader offering four separate reading modes with integrated resonance energy transfer detection capabilities (FRET, BRET).
The FLUOstar OPTIMA reads up to 384-well plates in all detection modes. Up to two on-board reagent injectors can be used to initiate kinetic events. Due to the individually adjustable delivery volumes for each well, the injectors can be used to produce dilution schemes and concentration ranges throughout the plate. Top and bottom plate reading, precise temperature control up to 45°C or up to 60°C, well scanning, multi-mode shaking capabilities and gas vent enhance the assay flexibility of the FLUOstar OPTIMA.
The FLUOstar OPTIMA has a dedicated luminescence detection system, so you do not need to choose between a microplate fluorometer and luminometer. It is even certified by Promega for the Dual Luciferase Reporter (DLR™) gene assays.
The FLUOstar OPTIMA has a modular design concept. This enables the FLUOstar OPTIMA to be fully upgradeable to the powerful POLARstar OPTIMA, which can perform Simultaneous Dual Emission and fluorescence polarization detection.
The Windows based OPTIMA software provides an extensive range of possibilities in both test parameter definitions and data reduction. The Control Software allows flexible definition of microplate layouts, filter selection, interval and injection times, measurement and shaking parameters. BMG LABTECH's powerful Data Analysis Software, MARS, contains significant ease-of-use enhancements and offers a wide range of data analysis including: validations, kinetic and assay quality calculations, data corrections, enzyme kinetics (e.g. Michaelis-Menten), curve scaling and smoothing, standard curve calculations and even user-defined formulas for data calculations.. Furthermore, MARS allows all types of data display to visualize data output such as overlay kinetic plots, standard curves, various curve fits, table views, signal curve, rainbow colors view and more.
