Quite complicated and hard to handling
Application Area:Speciation of metaloids
"We use the quaternary pump Flexar HPLC for speciation purposes. It is quite old equipment and very hard to hands-on. Only support up to 400 bar and that has very difficult to develop new methodologies. We currently are trying to use it to detect and quantify organometallic in food contact materials using an ICP Elan DRC-e as a mass detector. It is the hardest task."

Great instrument.
Application Area:Plant secondary metabolites
"The Flexar HPLC that we have is a perfect instrument for routine analysis. Its price was good for us. Chromera software is easy to use. The necessity to use a USB key for using the software I think is a limit for this company. I would prefer to be able to remove this obstacle, but the instrument is still good."

Will never buy another PE UHPLC again.
Application Area:UPLC Analysis
"The pump for the PE Flexar UHPLC is horrible. It's down 90% of the time. Rated for over 15,000 psi but don't try running an application over 10K psi. These pumps leak and seals blow all the time. PE gives a replacement but that doesn't fix the problem. Just swapping out one piece of kit for another."

Training is very expensive.
Application Area:Identification of substances and their concentration
"This product is easy to use with some training. PerkinElmer will conduct training on how to use this HPLC for a very substantial fee."
