Application Area:Extractable And Leachable
"The instrument is easy to use and robust. Whenever there is a problem, it's easy to call the technical support or ask a service engineer to come in a short time. Although it can only provide low resolution mass, the EI spectrum has the capability to match the NIST library to provide possible hits. By using the CI mode, the molecular weight information may be obtained to accelerate the structure elucidation of unknown compounds. "

"We have had this instrument for about 10 years and have had a minimum down time or problems with it. The software could be better. Extensive trial and error is needed to attempt to change compounds in the user library list, but once this is figured out changes are quick and easy. Cleaning the source is fairly trouble-free and if there are problems technical service on the phone is very helpful."

"This instrument has excellent build and ease of operation. It should be the first choice for negative ion (ECMI) GC-MS as it has the traditional metal quad and operates reliably at high pressure for years. The XCalibur software also works very well."
Product detail:
The Finnigan TRACE DSQTM (Dual-Stage Quadrupole) inherits from TRACE MS Plus and Finnigan PolarisQ the performance, ruggedness, and reliability of these Thermo Electron GC/MS instruments. Thousands of systems are installed worldwide with the reputation of being "e;Powerful Performers."e;
Finnigan TRACE DSQ further enhances this reputation by providing extra sensitivity when you need it. The new Ion BrightTM source, coupled with an innovative, curved pre-filter delivers and maintains the ultimate performance of your instrument. No more background noise from excited neutrals, no more sample contamination of the sensitive quadrupoles; the pre-filter efficiently removes it. The DSQ's ability to detect smaller amounts of compounds in difficult matrices can mean less prep time, smaller injections, less sample, more confidence -real productivity.
The powerful new installation specifications for the Finnigan TRACE DSQ mass spectrometers really underline the significant increase in sensitivity and unequivocally show that the instrument is the most sensitive benchtop GC/MS system commercially available.
The new Ion Bright source enables the Finnigan TRACE DSQ mass spectrometers to detect and analyze low level analytes in challenging matrices. It will also give the analyst the ability to run more samples with less downtime, saving on both instrument maintenance costs and lost time. Detecting low levels of pollutants, drugs, explosives, and chemical and biological agents used in terrorist attacks can be a very challenging task. By determining extremely low levels of compounds, the Finnigan TRACE DSQ can minimize extraction time and resources, while still achieving excellent levels of sensitivity for fast screens and a large dynamic range for quantitation.
The Finnigan TRACE DSQ significantly enhances a laboratory’s productivity with less preparation time, and smaller injections and sample sizes. With the addition of the Ion Bright source, GC/MS users now benefit from a completely versatile and flexible solution affording analysts the required sensitivity in real world samples, not just clean standards.
Take advantage of fast chromatography applications. Fast scanning at up to 10,000 amu/sec is possible - the industry's fastest scan speed for single quadrupole systems. More data points help define even very narrow peaks for precise and accurate quantitation. You can combine the ultimate sensitivity of SIM target compound analysis with the confidence of full-scan library searching for identifiying unknowns, all in a single analysis.
The system matches optimized hardware with a powerful 2.4GHz data system featuring the versatile Thermo Electron Xcalibur® control and reporting software which allows instant access to analysis functions, and the multi-tasking versatility to run other Windows applications simultaneously.
In addition, for automated reporting in environmental analyses, EnviroLab Forms is an additional software available to provide error-free, user-friendly, and EPA compliant reports. For automated toxicological reports, ToxLab Forms provide user-friendly automation for all of your reporting needs related to detection of drugs of abuse, therapeutic drug monitoring, and forensic studies.
The Finnigan TRACE DSQ, configured with the proven TRACE GC Ultra, delivers results you'd expect from high end systems at an affordable price. For added productivity, specify an AI 3000 or AS 2000 liquid or HS 2000 headspace autosamplers for high volume applications.
