Very good single tube luminometer

"I highly recommend the FB12 Single Tube Luminometer. It is very easy to use with and comes with a user-friendly software. In our lab, we are using it for lucigenin-enhanced chemiluminescence (LGCL) in both animal tissues and cells with reproducible results. I recommend a modified option with the heating module for experiments at 37 degrees Celsius. Last but not least, after-sale care and service are also of great help."

"The product is really easy to use for plant cells with luminescent probes. For example ROS detection. We use it also for calcium measurement with modified cells with aequorin gene. The results are in Relative Luminescence Unit and the system is really sensible to the signal."

"The FB12 Luminometer has been a work horse in my lab, needing minor repairs only twice since I bought it 12 years ago. The instrument is rugged and easy to use even for inexperienced undergraduate or high school students, yet provides sensitivity and signal-to-noise ratios better than more expensive plate reading luminometers. I highly recommend the instrument."

"There were quite a few wrinkles to iron out regarding stand-alone use and PC use; this was not at all straightforward. PC use is required for luminescence traces, stand alone gives only endpoint results -- this seems arbitrary. The computer program is reasonably user friendly but the method for interfacing between luminometer and the computer (opting out of standalone) is very clunky and annoying. It would be better to have an option that allows default use in one mode, and switching to the other mode should be easier. Also all of the options should be selectable through the computer rather than requiring some options to be selected at the luminometer even when using PC mode. There is some unknown weirdness with the injectors diluting the stock from which they draw -- still haven't figured out what the problem is. Despite these complaints, the luminometer is very high quality and I am getting very repeatable results."
