AGAR EUROPEAN TYPE,
The European approach of bacteriology is to use as little agar as possible in order not to introduce unknown substances to the culture media. For this reason, the gel strength is higher (800-1100 g/cm2), and can be used at lower concentrations. The ash content is low (< 4.5%).
