Good for triage of samples
Rating: 4.0

  • Application Area: Elemental analysis

"Epsilon 5 is an energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer with Ge detector. The sensitivity is relatively good, enabling the elemental analysis to a 1 mg/kg levels for most elements. As usual with XRF spectrometers, the accuracy depends greatly on matrix effects, thus necessitating the calibration in the matrix analyzed. With the standardless calibration providing semi-quantitative results, which is available with most XRF spectrometers, it helps with the triage of the samples for more complex and accurate elemental analysis."

Epsilon 5 is a unique high-resolution energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer specifically designed to deliver enhanced sensitivity and accuracy with significantly reduced backgrounds.

A fully integrated X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometer, the Epsilon 5 combines advanced elemental excitation capabilities with sophisticated instrument control and analytical software.

A combination of optimized Cartesian-geometrical design for lower backgrounds and extended K line excitation 100 kV X-ray capability technology, make the Epsilon 5 a powerful instrument. The result is superior and often shows sub-ppm detection limits for mid to heavy elements (Fe – U). Unmatched performance for air filter analysis, trace heavy metals, and REE.
