Perfect!! Clean alternative to 15 ml tubes for volumes from 2.5 to 5 ml. [Original text: Perfekt!! Saubere Alternative zu 15 ml Tubes für Volumen von 2,5 bis 5 ml.]
Application Area: Cell culture
"A very good innovation. We have an excellent application in cell culture with 5 ml screw caps. [Original text: Ein sehr gute Inovation. 5 ml Schraubdeckel finden bei uns eine hervorragnde Anwendung in der Zellkultur.]"

Very useful.
Application Area:Centrifugation of bacterial cultures
"These tubes are very useful, with their volumes intermediate between falcon tubes and the smaller eppendorf tube sizes. In particular, we found them to be very useful when handling bacterial cell cultures and they are compatible with swinging bucket Eppendorf centrifuges, allowing the cultures to be spun down."

Perfect!
Application Area:Cell culture
"For cell culture the best tube is between 2 ml an 15 ml. No contaminations between samples. Perfect."

Great product and much needed.
Application Area:Storing aliquots of buffer
"I use these to store aliquots of 10x buffers from 1 to 5mL. Sometimes 1.5mL tubes are too small and 15mL tubes are too large. These fill a necessary niche for volumes from 1 to 5mL. "

Eppendorf Tubes are my absolute favourite, hands down!
Application Area:Molecular biology/microbiology/consumables
"The perfect tubes for volumes larger than standard 2 mL microcentrifuge tubes, but smaller than 15 mL Falcon tubes. The locking caps are perfect, and I never have to worry about lids popping when heating samples. For more volatile solvents or higher temperatures, the caps can be secured further with clips to ensure they won’t pop off. Tubes are now available in both flick cap, and twist cap which provides so much versatility. Accurate graduations on the side of the tube for quick estimation of volume. There are options for sterile and non-sterile tubes, but they autoclave just fine if you get the non-sterile tubes. Capable of withstanding high forces in the centrifuge and the weights of the tubes are fairly consistent making balancing simpler."

A buck well spent, but avoid Eppendorf's customer service
Application Area:Lipid peroxidation
"Honestly, I don't like eppendorf because I had some really bad customer care from their behalf. But this product is really good quality. Pretty much all their tubes have the same weight (+/- 000,1 - I was bored and weighted a few) and can take a high temp in the waterbath or in the autoclave. So, as far I can say, a buck well spent. Too bad their customer service is one of the worst."

Highly recommended
Application Area:Cell Culture and Sample Prep
"Highly recommended, easy to use and ideal for those medium sized sample volumes where a 1.5ml tube is too small and a 15ml way too big. The availability of snap cap and screw cap 5.0 ml size enable the optimal choice for different requirements in sample preparation, incubation, storage, or other applications."

Brilliant Product
Application Area:Proteomics and Cytomics
"What a life saver. It’s a brilliant product. perfect size for bit bigger dilutions as always had to rely on 15ml falcon tubes before. Lid locks are an advantage as well. I am using the Protein Lo-bind 5ml tubes and had no issues yet. A must to have consumable in Lab "

Great results, would recommend these tubes to any lab!
Application Area:Sample prep for western blots
"This product works great. The tubes are sturdy and well made....they won't crack in the centrifuge like some products from other companies have done."

"The 5 ml tube is ideal to prepare solutions in a slightly bigger volume but not too big like a 15 ml tube. It works perfectly as a normal eppendorf tube and is ideal to use with 1000ul pipette too. "

"The 5 ml tubes give you a lot more flexibility of manipulations of samples in a tube. For example, if you have to use a tissue homogenizer on a small volume, such as 3 ml, the 5 ml tube has enough volume to accommodate this. They fit in tube racks made for 15 ml conical tubes, which is convenient. The price seems high, since they are the same approximate price as the 15 ml conical tubes, but they have different uses. My only complaint is that the way Eppendorf has manufactured them with an outline of their logo underneath the cap, it can be hard to see what you wrote on the top."
