"The Brookfield DVE viscometer has been an excellent QC tool for measuring polymer solution viscosity. Its cost is low enough that multiple units can be purchased for both lab and plant personnel, and data reproducibility between users has been very consistent (unusual to see more than 2-4% results variation between users). Only (minor) complaint for our setup is that the labeling of the spindles can be confusing if a lab has both the high viscosity and low viscosity units: Both spindle sets are only marked 1 through 6, so it is important to always be clear on which set goes with the viscometer being used to avoid an inaccurate result."
