"1.) The ICS is easy of using, but the software Chromeleon is to extensive for our applications. 2.) It's not comfortable that the Software is only in English. Especially the manual. 3.) The Service Hotline is horrible!!! But I'm lucky to have a very good and nice Service technician. Mr. Tissler is the best. "

"We have had problems with the life of suppressors when analysing the above samples. It took 2 years to discover that using and replacing regularly a NG1 column protected the suppressor which is lasting much longer, >6months. This fix was achieved with a lot of help and support from Dionex and then Thermo Fisher."

"The instrument is quite easy to use although the software takes a little experience. Trying to purchase parts for the instrument since Thermo has taken over the company has been terrible. The website requires a credit card or PO before the purchase is made, the part numbers have all been changed and some of them don't have numbers. The parts, especially the suppressors, are very difficult to get. We had to separate the PM's on our two instruments because we couldn't get two suppressors at the same time and one of the instruments was down with a bad suppressor. We had to use a different service technician instead of the one we've had since purchasing the instrument. The suppressors don't last as long as they used to. We used to be able to get technical support and go to really good classes. I haven't heard of anything like that available. It's a shame. Dionex isn't the same company it was since being purchased by Thermo. "

"Among all the equipment I have bought- GC, HPLC, GC-MS, IC and so on. This equipment is terrible. After one year, we still could not successfully set it up to run our samples. My recommendation to friends and visitors will be very careful for buying this model. Something is not correct for this system, we frequently had hardware issues although we have not run any samples. After each service, we started to run standards, then found another part broken. I would like to return this item back, please! "

"The Dionex ICS-1100 is a good entry level ion chromatograph for labs who test consistent samples as in a QC type environment. In our lab this instrument is used weekly, and has had only one non-consumable related maintenance expense in three years of service. The results generated by this instrument are reliable and autosampler errors are infrequent and could be attributed to the vials as opposed to plumbing and injection apparatus. As with all HPLC/IC units I have worked with, there a many small fittings and connections that can be tricky to access and articulate for someone with poor manual dexterity. Overall I do and will continue to recommend Dionex products to colleagues."

"The ICS-1100 is a basic system that works great and is reliable for routine ion analysis. The ability to configure multiple ICS-1100 to do multiple analysis is helpful. This is best for routine analysis and not research. If you are in need of gradient capability for research purposes spend the extra money for the ICS-5000. The Chromeleon software is much easier to use then ChemStation."

"Product has some great functionality and is pretty simple to use. The software is also quite good. The technical staff and sales team were always willing to help. Very nice people. My only complaint would be the outdated technical notes and manuals. Of course software changes very fast, and I get that, but trying to use and instrument that doesn't match the tech notes can be very hard. I literally couldn't turn the dang thing on for about an hour since this little green button was hiding in plain sight."
