"Thermo Dionex ICS-5000+ with Eluent Generator works as advertised. It has far better detection sensitivity than other systems on the market if set up with the correct eluent and column combination. The application chemists at Thermo are well equipped to provide the best setup for your application. The Chomeleon software is very powerful. It houses so many features for the basic to the advanced user. This instrument has quickly become the workhorse for our lab. There are some shortcomings, not with the instrument, but with the service and installation. Installation took far more time than originally anticipated (added 2 weeks) and the installation technician was not as knowledgeable about the system, which became somewhat of a frustration. Thermo seems to have only one or two very knowledgeable experts. The sales person had to intervene and help with the installation. Nevertheless, the system was successfully installed and has ran with no major issues."

The Thermo Scientific ICS-5000 Eluent Generator takes the guesswork and complexity out of ion chromatography. The Eluent Generator module (EG) provides the benefits of a Reagent-Free IC (RFIC) system with eluent generation (RFIC-EG) to produce eluent automatically from deionized water. Stable, robust electronics provide an extremely stable baseline and generate high-purity eluents (up to 200 mM in capillary formats) on-line, making gradient separations as easy as isocratic; with just a click of the mouse. The EG’s slide-out tray provides easy access to the cartridges, CR-TC and fluidic connections, making IC more convenient than ever.

Capillary EG Cartridge Benefits:

• Available in hydroxide and methanesulfonic acid (MSA) versions for anion and cation separations
• Delivers eluent concentrations from 0.01 up to 200 mM for KOH and MSA
• Maximum pressure rating 5000 psi
• Flow rates from 0.001 to 0.03 mL/min
