Product Description:
Used to immobilize chromosomes by inactivating the spindle fiber mechanism during metaphase. Binds tubulin and interferes with microtubule-dependent cell functions. Demecolcine arrests cells in metaphase with no effect on the biochemical events in mitotic cells or in synchronized G1 and S phase cells.
Typical Application:
Used in cell celture medium at a final concentration of 0,4 ug/ml. Incubate cultures for 4-6 hours at 37°C. Remove medium containing demecolcine and replace with fresh medium.
