upcyte® Hepatocytes are genetically engineered human cell strains, derived from single donor primary cells. Applications include functional pharmaceutical studies on liver metabolism as well as comprehensive, predictive compound toxicity screenings (e.g. ADMET, short/long term assays, genotoxicity testing). Depending on the required complexity of the cell system, liver-derived upcyte® cells can be used as 2D-monolayers for high-throughput screens or as 3D-systems such as spheroids and organoids that enable realistic hepatic studies.
