Helpful and efficient instrument, but unable to use for desired application.
Application Area: Automated cell counting for high throughput screening
"Works great for established cell lines. Takes a little bit of time to manually adjust the settings, but counts are consistent and reliable. The reusable, glass hemacytometer is a great option so that you're not forced into buying Invitrogen's consumables. Does not work well for cell diameters below 10um. Hoped to use this item for primary hematopoietic cells, but they are too small to count accurately."

Great cell counter
Application Area:cell counting for in vitro work
"We purchased this as a replacement to the original Countess cell counter which we had several years of experience with. This was a seamless transition. We use it for basic cell counting and viability analysis. It is capable of analyzing cell size but we have no need for this feature so I can't comment specifically on that. Overall, it works fine and matches up with our manual counts using a hemocytometer."

With this product we save a lot of time for cell culture.
Application Area:Count live and dead cell numbers
"With this product, we save a lot of time for cell culture. However, it is a little bit tricky to adjust to the optimal focus. "

"Cell counter Countess II stands out for its ease of use. Its image quality allows us to define easily cells of interest and its software is very precise. Drawbacks are the price and that it needs its own slides for counting that cost a lot."

"Great flexibility to choose the fluorescence filters for your application. Good value because reusable counting slide helps reduce consumable costs. Nice precision auto-focus to improve accuracy and reduce variability. It's simple and easy to use with a touch screen interface."
The Invitrogen™ Countess™ II Automated Cell Counter uses trypan blue staining combined with an autofocus mechanism and sophisticated image analysis algorithm to obtain accurate cell and viability counts in as little as 10 seconds.
