Difficult instrument to keep going 24/7
Application Area: Haematology analyzer
"Overall a reasonably effective haematology analyzer solution with the following shortcomings: a) Large foot print b) Tends to give a high monocyte count c) Equipment not reliable. Requires constant maintenance effort."

Average instrument but need a little more technological upgrade.
Application Area:Complete blood profile
"Instrument is robust and gives good results. All the parameters are rarely cross 1.3 SDI on RIQUA. The VCS technology fast for blood profiles. It has many features like delta check, critical limit, action limits and flagging feature. It has three aperture detection for cell counting. However, a major drawback is its inability to capture and count reactive lymphocytes and monocytes. The software that came with it has feature which does not work at all. Cost per test is much more that what is stated in the agreement form."

"This product is easy to use and analyse samples. It has a high throughput and easy to transmit to the LIMS system. However it is difficult to fix and requires an engineer to be called out."

"The Coulter LH 750 hematology analyzer from Beckman Coulter is simple and easy to use. It eliminates the need for additional slide making by letting you know when you need to confirm a differential, do a manual differential, or do a scan. I would recommend it!"

"The instrumentation is very easy to understand, calibration and quality control, however as the instruments age they seem to require A LOT of service. "

Application Area:CBC, Hemoglobing, platelet count
"This analyzer was easy to use as far as conducting CBC, platelet counts, hemoglobin, and white blood cell counts. However, it tended to clot a lot due to blood clots, get a lot of incomplete values and we would have to get the system cleaned out. Even though these problems would occur, the vendor representative would come to correct the issue. Over all, I feel that this analyzer was easy to conduct maintenance on and was easy to use."

"Although not Beckman Coulter's top-end machines anymore, the LH750 remain reliable workhorses that churn out accurate and precise blood counts with the robust and low maintenance profile necessary in a clinical laboratory. Pros: 1- Few clinical issues with most of the common parameters. 2- The research population data (VCS technology) allows analysis of exotic leukocyte properties and generates publishable data from something as mundane and everyday as the CBC. 3- Reagent supply is prompt and reliable. 4- Beckman has an extensive and responsive network with very pleasant technical staff to facilitate R&D. Cons: 1- Lacks an optical platelet count (you get it in similar level machines), hence lower range platelet counts can be tricky. 2- We have had issues with the reticulocyte count (false low values on the machine). 3- Saving the complete VCS data (including scatter plots) is cumbersome. I would unhesitatingly recommend the LH750 to a colleague."
